How to prop residential refrigerator open

How are you propping open your residential refrigerator while in storage? I have a big screw in knob that secures during transportation. I need to prop it open during storage for mold control. I have a 2022 Montana 3121RL
Thanks

I usually open all 3 doors and screw in the big screw knob behind the doors. This keeps them from closing completely. Our rig came with another screw knob that has a very short bolt in it. I was told that was what we were supposed to use, but it allows the doors to nearly close, leaving only a small crack open. The larger screw in knob holds the doors away from the fridge and open enough to prevent mold.
I also use the Damp Rid system with the drop in tablets. One on the kitchen island, one in the bathroom and one in the bedroom. These seem to last much longer than the small pre-made ones.

Thanks. My problem is in storage I have to have everything in place before I back in my covered storage. The steps make it too difficult to open while in my spot. I did not get the knob with the short bolt.

I used to have this plastic thing that went between the freezer and fridge doors. It had maybe a 2 1/2 inch square thing on one side (placed on the inside) and a smaller one on the outside. Of course you need something to tie the doors somewhat tight against the frig body.
Now that I write this, I wonder where that thing went................ LOL

I just lay a folded towel over the door so it can’t close. Not fancy but has worked for years.

Place a towel or rag over the open doors and bring them to a shut position. Now, use a bungie cord through the door handles to keep the doors tight against the rags or towels, yet leaves the door open.

I was going to say cut wooden rods to keep the doors open but the towel trick is better and there is nothing to buy or do. Good idea.

On mine (2021 GE residential) the doors have a detent that can be noticeably felt when opening and closing. Once you get past that detent, the doors won’t drift closed without pushing closed past it. It’s almost like a “self closing” feature. That keeps my doors from drifting closed in storage. Maybe yours are the same. If not, I use towels on my boat fridge.

+1

We wipe it down, let it air dry for a day or so, put a box of baking soda in the fridge, another in the freezer, close it up and have had no issues. We do remove the water filter and put it in our home fridge to keep it from getting moldy.

I still have a traditional gas/electric fridge, but I use a pool noodle. They are less than $5.00. Its about a 12” piece along with some elastic cord left over from an old jacket bottom, along with some of the little push locks that are commonly used to adjust the bottom if a coat/jacket.

I have a flat piece of plastic that runs along the outside of the doors. The cord goes through holes in the flat plastic, between the fridge and freezer door through the pool noodle and then doubles back through the pool noodle and the plastic. The two ends of cord are inside the doors where the push lock is so I can tighten the plastic against the door which causes the pool noodle and the plastic to pinch the doors together. I have two elastic cord straps that do this on the ends of to pool noodle. Then in the middle I have a similarly ran piece that is a longer piece of shock cord that has a snap link that I hook to the freezer shelf. This holds the doors from swinging further open. I could tow my camper with it in Place if I had too. I don't have any pictures, but if you wanted them, I could run by the camper storage to give a visual to my typed explanation. You could do the same thing just run them vertical instead of horizontal.
