Key TV

Hello - New to the group - Just bought a 2021 Montana 3761FL and the Key TV apparently doesn’t work as it states it will automatically go from air to cable. We get a few air channels but the when I try cable it is all snow. Thoughts and has anyone else experienced this and if you have what was the outcome. Thank you

Good morning:

I have just experienced the same thing with my 2020 3761FL.

If I find anything I will update the post.

I could be wrong on this, our 2017 has a booster that’s in-line and you need to turn that booster off to use cable. The booster if for over the air antenna, our booster in in the bedroom tv area.

Yeah, I have an early 2019. I have the booster amplifier behind the TV in the bedroom too.
They switched over to KeyTV in the second half of 2019. He doesn't have the booster.
KeyTV is a totally different animal.

Had issues with my KeyTV yesterday. Dish Network works well through mine - most have issues getting it to do so. Had the Dish Wally receiver up and running in the living room just fine and got the bright idea of relocating the Wally to the bedroom for testing purposes. Well couldn't get the Wally to power up the Dish antenna from the bedroom no matter what I tried, so moved the Wally back to the living room. Well the Wally wouldn't power up the Dish antenna from the living room either no matter what scenario that i tried. Ran the coax from the Dish antenna directly to the Wally receiver and the setup worked just fine. Tried going back to the original configuration with the coax running through the KeyTV for distribution through the coach and you guessed it - nothing....

Decided to cycle the DC power to the KeyTV unit Off and back On again. Low and behold the Dish satellite powered up through the KeyTV system just fine. No idea if this save scenario would work for you as we've never been to a location that had cable. With that said - it might be worth a shot. I'm not messing with our setup again until I order a second Wally receiver as this had me chasing my tail for an hour and a half yesterday.

Good luck and happy camping.

For Key TV on late 2019 models and newer, it will automatically go from over the air channels to cable channels without doing any other steps. There is no booster to turn off or on. What you need to know is you must program the channels through the TV menu when you switch from one to the other. If you scan for channels over the air, you will need to rescan for channels when hooking to cable.

Key TV has, and has had, many problems. In theory it sounds pretty cool but the modules have been problematic since their inception. In reality it was an effort to cut costs by the module eliminating double wiring for cable and sat. Unfortunately the module fails about 65% of the time (per my service manager) and the replacments aren't any better. You also need to double check all those coax connections behind the module. All of mine looked like a 10 year old put the connectors on. Maybe you can make it work, you might need to replace it or just configure it so the incoming signal (sat or cable) has a direct connection.

I hate to state the obvious but I'd start but I would start by removing the access plates and check all the connections. Unscrew the cables and make sure the center pin isn't bend or missing. I had one that was missing.

Sorry for the delay in answering....
I found the trouble with my KeyTV was the line from the campground was bad. They hooked me up to another cable outlet and it worked fine.

Sorry I can't be of more help.
