Residential Samsung fridge

Hi - has anyone pulled out their Rv samsung residential fridge to clean coils? Ours is located in slide-out by stove. It has an ice maker. How would one get it pulled out to clean coils? We have a 2019 Montana 38ft 5th wheel. Any suggestions on how to do this and not damage anything?

Texaskey - use the google search box above/right to search “bracket for refrigerator”. The first thread that comes up is from Aug 2019. There are brackets on each side of the fridge about waist high. Remove the bolt that you see and the fridge pulls out. Forum member Jdarwin used some blocks to rig a runway for the fridge to roll out on so you don’t have to wrangle it up and down the slideout step. The screen shot below shows the runway boards. I rigged up something similar when I rolled mine out to clean the coils a few months ago. It is a pretty easy job.

Besides the pic of the runway boards, there are pics of the fridge brackets attached to the back wall. It is not uncommon for the brackets to pull off the back wall. This thread illustrates using a piece of plywood to glue and screw to the back wall - then reattach the brackets to the plywood.

On the sides of your refrigerator you should find a bolt that looks like the photo below. Take that bolt out of both sides and the refrigerator will slide straight out (forward).






Here's the refrigerator pulled out from the wall. You can see the 2 arms on each side of the cabinet that has connects the bolts to the part that is attached on the refrigerator.



Once the refrigerator is pulled out from its cabinet, you can remove the back of the refrigerator. I've never done that with the Samsung because those coils are inside the back wall of the refrigerator. They are not outside like some of the older style refrigerators were. Actually, you are probably spinning time attempting to clean the coils off considering everything is already enclosed.

Get 4 pieces of 2x6 lumber, stack them 2 high in front of the refrigerator to make up for the slide offset. There are brackets located on both sides of the refrigerator with a bolt holding the refrigerator in place. Take out the bolts and use a pull the unit up to the trim edge of the slide, now use a pry bar to lift the front of the unit over the trim and onto the stacked 2x6's. The unit should easily roll out enough to access the back of the unit.

I do this every 6 months and take the time to assure the dust is removed from the coils. It definitely helps the performance of this fridge in maintaining temperature below 40 degrees. Mine is a consistent 36 degrees.

It would be highly unlikely that the coils of that Samsung frig would need cleaning unless the unit is very old (10+ years) and in a very dirty environment (heavy shag carpet and pets). They just do not get dirty. A better reason to pull out is to take a good look at the I/M fill valve and connections to check for leaks.


When I pulled ours out to replace the inverter board, I had to remove the 2"x 7' long black trim under unit. I built a two piece platform using 1"x6" deck board and 3/4" plywood. That made it the perfect fit to very easily roll the unit out.

Interesting response, I keep a very clean house, 100% pet free but I do live fulltime in my trailer & travel a variety of different environments throughout the year. I will confirm that your coils underneath do accumulate dust and debris regardless how clean your place is. I have yet to regret pulling out my fridge and cleaning inside rear, under it and behind it. In my opinion l am not sure if any of these newer refrigerators (especially a Samsung residential) will even last 10 years??? Their current track record has not been very good. Again, just my opinion.

In the 3.5 years we had the 3791RD, when I pulled out the unit to replace the inverter board, there was zero dust or dirt on the condenser of our Samsung unit. Full timers may experience a different outcome. Especially if they have carpet runners in front of the reefer. I spent 40 years of my life working on household refrigerator, and by far the dirtiest coils were in carpeted homes. The cleanest were in garages.


If a Samsung reefer does not acquire a Freon leak, restricted sealed system or a locked compressor, I see little reason a modern refrigerator will not easily last 20+ years. I do know that some of the 25+ year old built-in Kitchen Aide and Whirlpool units have become control board no longer available. We are talking $15k to $20k units.
