AM/FM CD Radio
We have a 3750FL that we really like. Our old trailer had a 12v radio/CD player that I upgraded. We used it a lot and miss not having one in our new 5-er. Has anyone installed one? Where did you install it and what did you use for speakers? Thanks in advance!

It does have an entertainment centre, but it requires 110V power. My goal is to be able to listen to the radio when we don't have 110v.

Your speakers should not matter whether they are being supplied from a AC or DC source. With this in mind, you can still use the existing speakers, either wired in conjunction with the receiver or equipped with an A/B type switch to allow you to switch the sources. This would allow you to install the unit in the front entertainment center which would make the addition of a DC wiring loop to the breaker/fuse panel (beneath the desk) a relatively simple job (depending on your aptitude for such things). Even simpler you could run a feed wire direct from the battery compartment to power the unit (a fuse is definitely recommended if you go this route). By the way, welcome to the forum and congratulations on your choice of a great floor plan that is to my liking as well!!

Another thought would be a DC to AC Inverter to power the current system from 12VDC. You would have to check the specs to determine how large Inverter would be required, or go Bingos route and change out to a 12V unit. I think Jensen makes systems for 12V operation.

Before you get your 12 volt receiver, check the installed speakers. My 2008 3075 came with 3 ohm (cheap) speakers. When a power surge blew the receiver/amp, I upgraded to a Sony with 8 ohm speakers and wireless surround sound. It is possible that your speakers are 8 ohm, but I would check them anyway.

Wow, you guys are awesome! I like the idea of running a 12v, fused line to the intertainment compartment. I'll have to figure out how to access the area, hopefully I can follow the path of the 110v wire. I just thought about the antenna too. I think I could use the TV antenna, or at least try it. I upgraded the speakers in our old trailer and what a difference! The surround sound speakers we have now sound real good,so I can use them with a switch. Thank you all!!!
