Sliding Closet Door Adjustment
We have a 2018 Montana 3701LK and are having trouble with the sliding door on the bedroom closet. I understand that RV's settle and adjustments must be made, I am just not sure I understand how to adjust these. I have had other RV's that I have adjusted, but this one is unfamiliar to me. I see that it has a lock nut on the hanger bolt, and I would think that loosening it up and turning the hanger bolt to raise the door a little would work, but how to get to the square headed bolt is not easy.

I have a similar issue - one door slides easily and the other drags somewhere. I have looked at adjustments, but nothing seems to make a difference.

Sorry about not sharing, was glad I figured it out.
On the rolling hangers at the top of the door, loosen the jam nut (easiest in the closet side) , loosen it almost to the top. Now, slightly lift the door up and slide the roller mechanism toward the opening on the door bracket so as to free it from the door. Once removed, screw the square headed hanger bolt on the bracket a turn or two clockwise, then reinstall without tightening the jam nut because you may need a little more adjustment. Once you have clearance on the bottom of the door, tighten the jam nut.

Cool, thanks. Without looking I’d say it sounds like the same rig as the bathroom pivot door.

I had the same issue of both doors dragging and hanging up. I adjusted them both two or three times and eventually they both would drag and jam again. I thought I would give it one more shot before I took them down and put up a sheet. I went in the closet to start adjustment and noticed the track had loosened and dropped down from ceiling. I added a couple of mollies and tightened the other screws and doors work like they should.

Same closet door issue
Drake,
I am having the same issue and tightening the screws does not solve the problem, they pull right out. The rail on one side (and the paneling it is attached to) sags. How did you know what size Molly to use to secure the rail to something above?

Drake,
That first post was supposed to be a reply to your response. I am having the same issue. The rail in one side sags, along with the paneling it’s attached to). How did you determine what size molly to use to get it to secure in place. It seems like it’s not grabbing onto anything solid and I can’t tell what’s above the paneling. No idea if there is a stud up there somewhere.
Any thoughts how to solve this dilemma?

MJohnston - this is an older thread and Drake has not posted since 2019.
I discovered this by clicking on the name "DRAKE"
then "VIEW PUBLIC PROFILE" - then click on "STATISTICS"
then "FIND ALL POSTS BY DRAKE".
What is the year and model of your RV?
Sliding closet doors differ over the years.

Thank for the reply. I have a 2018 3120RL.
The closet doors are heavy and are hung from the top rail. I have solid anchor points on the passenger side, but the rail sages on the drivers side. I retried putting longer screws in, but there is not much for the screw to bite into. I am planning to try a 2 inch Molly and see if that solves it.
