still carving!

I haven't posted in a long time since I just been busy! lol, anyway, here are a couple of carvings recently done.
this pair of wrens won 1st place at crossville tn show awhile back. they are carved from basswood, feet made from copper, and I now carve the eyes in my carvings instead of using the glass eyes. the base's I turn on my lathe..Instead of painting this pair of wrens, I burned the color in them with burning pens. they look natural



this blackcapped chickadee was shown at a show in tullahoma tn and took first place in show, he is carved from basswood, copper feet, woodturned base, eyes carved and again instead of painting he is woodburned for the color
