NEW GUY!
Hi All!
Wanted to introduce myself... I am active duty Coast Guard and have been full timing for several years now. We just recently purchased a 2010 345DBQ.
Granted it maybe the awesome Ketchikan, AK weather but its been a little more leak prone and maintanence hungry then our previous Sprinter TT. Any guidance or things to look for much appreciated!
Look forward to getting to know everyone!

Welcome to the forum from Wash St Coast and thank you for your service My DAD was a Proud Shallow water sailor ,you mentioned it is leak prone and all of us here in this part of the Country know about all the rain ,Even when I had my Old 2012 it leaked in the bedroom when I first bought it all it takes is a little missed caulking from the factory to cause problems so go around ALL the seams on the roof and the cap,Slides and where mine was leaking was on the Bottom of the bed slide the little 1 inch strip all along the bottom was missing a little caulk and the rain traveled into the closet and next to the bed So Check All the caulking and Also be sure to put a few Dehumidifiers(DRI-EZ etc..) in the Closet to Ward off Mold it gets real bad here in the NW

Welcome. Any window will be suspect on a trailer, especially one approaching the age of yours since the butyl chauk will drying out near the outer edges of the window frame and creating a path for water to enter. Silicone chauk around outer frame will usually stop this. There are so many paths for water...antenna elevation shaft, antenna coax in, seals, unlevelness, etc...so it is really a job of laying eyes on every inch of the beast. Good luck. John

Welcome to the MOC and thank both you and your family for your service. We can relate to your background as I was in the Navy at age 20 and we were also living off base in an RV, a Spartan Royal Mansion travel trailer. For the leaks I recommend checking the slide seals to make sure they are turned correctly when slides are out and are as clean as possible. Slide toppers will help some with water issues, and Eternabond for rubber roof holes and self leveling sealant for the roof vents and pipes exits.

Welcome to the forum! One additional place to look for leaks is the bottom 4" trim piece on particularly the bedroom slide, if you give us some particulars on what you're dealing with I think we can get you some answers. Hope your new rig brings you many years of wonderful memories.

WOW THANK YOU ALL FOR THE WARM WELCOMES AND THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE SERVED!!!
I will be going over the trailer again this weekend and will ensure that I check all potential entry points that you have pointed out! The trailer has been a bit more leak prone and was a little mistreated by her PO, but we are loving the trailer so far and have been in the game just long enough to know that growing pains are to be expected even with the brand new unit we owned prior to this one.
I look forward to talking to everyone and hopefully when back in the "lower 48" I can attend a few of the rallies I have seen posted!
