Electrical issues

We have a 2019 Montana 3810MS 5er. We are connected to shore power. Several times a day all electric goes out then comes back on several minutes later. We checked with the office and they said there are no issues. Any suggestions of what to look at?

If someone sitting in the office said "no issues" I wouldn't rely on it. If any close by neighbors check with them and see if they are having same or similar issues. Maybe one of them could actually check the power at the source. I had an employee once tell me they had no problems so I took him to the source and told him how to fix it. 5 minutes later no more problem!

Doesn't the newer Montanas have a SurgeGard device to detect over/under voltage? I would check to see what it says when the power goes out.

If you are using an EMS either built in or on the pedestal, it is probably cutting you off when the power drops below a certain point. Then when the voltage goes back up it kicks on again. A Progressive EMS wil cut you off when the power drops and then waites 2 1/2 minutes before it turns you back on again. Voltage drops are common in older parks in summer because they never expected the big rigs with convection ovens, giant frigs and three AC units when they designed the wiring for the park. At our Escapee park in NM we had to completely remodel the electrical system including adding transformers, adding new wiring and having the electric complany bring in more power so we could solve that problem.

I would suspect incoming power as well. We've had that happen any number of times in various places. Hopefully it is an EMS cutting you off and reconnecting instead of you being hooked to commercial power as it goes through all kinds of fluctuations.

Are you in Carlsbad NM? If so, hasn't it been hot there as well (I'm right across the TX state line). If so, with everyone running ACs (or maybe 2) it is very possible the park electrical system isn't up to the job.

If you have a multi meter just set it up and plug into one of the 120 vac outlets and monitor your incoming voltage for a while... if this is 50 amp service you’ll only be monitoring one leg of the power source but it will give you the info you seek

Like Carl said, the newer Montana's have the surge guard as part of the Legacy package. If you have that, it may be what is cutting you off, then back on when due to a voltage drop.

You can purchase a plug-in digital voltage meter that allows you to check the incoming voltage frequently. On hot summer days, older RV parks, and full parks the voltage can drop significantly. I've left parks because the voltage is below 110 just to prevent any failures in the rig, especially the AC.
