Legacy inside motion step light

It worked great until we left the dealer. Now this little light is so dim I still can’t see where I’m walking. Does anyone know how to take the cover off? Is it battery or what. About to drive a girl nuts.

Interior step motion light

You probably have figured this out already. The small motion light is hard wired into the low voltage wiring with closed end crimp connectors. The black cover is held on by two tabs, one on the top and one on the bottom. We have a 2019 3121RL and our light started doing the same thing shortly after we bought it. I took the light off and while I had it in my hand it got bright again. It seemed to work fine, I reinstalled it and it started malfunctioning again. During this time I found a structural problem (weld failure on wall stud near bedroom) and had to carry the Montana in for warranty repair, I included the light as one of my issues and they replaced it under warranty.
