Pop rivets on door??

The plate that holds the hydraulic cylinder on one the big basement doors pulled off. It was held on by 8 small wood screws. It seems like the cylinder pushes on the door plate and does not pull, I think a box slid against the cylinder and the door had to pull on the cylinder when the door opened pulling the plate off. I talked to a shop man at Camping World that said he would put the plate back on by putting a light coat of silcione on the plate and using pop rivets to hold it on. What do you think? Also the plate on the other side looks like it is loose, if the pop rivets work I may replace all the wood screws on both the big doors.

We had the same issue. They removed all the screws and fixed it with the rivets and we have not had an issue since.
