water pressure guidellines
Anyone know what the factory recommended water pressure settings Are? I've read for older (non-Montana) units it's 45 (what is older?) and newer units 60 (what is newer?) I've set my regulator at 50 and my rig is a 2007. If I could safely squeeze out another 10 lbs or so I would do it as water flow in the shower is somewhat weak. I'm using a Watts N45BU 3/4" residential style regulator as I read too many stories of RV style units failing.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Howard,
I'd think that anything between the numbers you mention would be plenty safe. We run ours between 45 and 55. The pressure ratings for the piping in our Montana show significantly higher ratings but we still keep it at the above indicated numbers. Good luck. Dennis

Howard, I'm using the same regulator as you are and have mine set at 60 psi. I think if you have problems at this setting it won't be from too high pressure but more from fittings coming loose. You just have to inspect all your fittings like where the plumbing line hooks up to the faucets and pumps and insure they are tight. Jim

You may want to check your restrictors... they can do a job limiting flow...
While you are on city water they do not really serve a purpose but when you are using tank.water they help in economizing... anyway I have had them partially clog and limit flow... You can.also drill an extra hole if you just wish to increase flow a bit...
Good luck...!!

I have mine set to 80 and have no problems. Units are tested at about 120 so you're safe. Ours was set to 80 when we had access to water that was coming in at 90 at a church in Oklahoma. 80 is wonderful but we seldom find water sources that run that high at RV parks. Most manufacturers recommend 40-45 because that helps cover them when it comes to possible leaks.

We keep our Watts set at 55 and have plenty of water/pressure with no leaks.

If you have been using it set at 50psi and then boost it up to anything above that you may find the weak link. Check all connections carefully for awhile before being too comfortable. That would be my .02.

Whew! WeBeFulltime made me do a doubletake when posting "We keep our Watts at 55"...
My first thought was of electric wattage and I was trying to figure out what that had to do with water pressure.... ZAP!... But no, what was meant was the company name Watts that makes adjustable water regulators and the post was referring to a Watts water regulator being adjusted to 55....
Okay, ambiguity solved... One of these days, I'm gonna get me one of them Watts regulators. Unfortunately I just bought my last fixed pressure water regulator and it's lasting forever! It would figure, huh! It's set for 45 psi and we're looking forward to higher psi, but we don't camp enough any more to just run out and buy a replacement.
Just wondering if anyone else had a similar confusion moment?

Try using the Oxyenics - BodySpa shower head for better pressure,
