We use a rack which looks like this http://www.bikerackshops.com/vehicle...ike_tray_rack/ although I don't know if this is the brand we have. The bikes stay nice and secure. We put two on the rack and two in the basement. Yep, we have four bikes between the two of us!

We have the same rack, except it only fits the two inch receiver.
We also use it on the back of our TV with a sleeve from 2" to 2.5".

OK, here's what we did: Bought a Swagman 2 bike rack to fit a 2" Receiver, so we could switch it over to the TV once unhooked, since we have yet to upgrade to a 2" Hidden Hitch, we bought the 1 1/4 to 2" adapter. Loaded the bikes, but to stiffen things up used a ratchet strap from the Ladder side of the bike rack to the Ladder, thus putting some tension on the rackk. This seemed to take much of the bounce out and the bikes rode great from Western NY to Central FL. Now one disclaimer, we had the MorRyde IS installed while at the Rally, so the Monty does ride a lot better, which may take some of the tail bounce out.
