St. Pete, Florida CG

We are leaving from Rally this year for Florida. Our son and daughter-in-law are expecting their first child and we are planning on wintering there this year. Does anyone know of a good campground down there that would be near St. Pete. We’ve stayed at Bay Bayou before, but it is an hour away. An area with fishing would be great.

Robert's Mobile Home & RV park is just a short drive away from the old Gandy bridge. It's now called a walking bridge and allows fishing from any location on the bridge.

We stayed at Robert's for 3 months one winter season (A great location). Just about always caught nice trout from bridge locations.

Thumbs up

Fort De Soto State Park - outstanding! South St. Pete Beach, peninsula with great beaches, nice camp sites, historical fortified sites, and great fishing!! Enjoy

Nice park but you cannot winter there, specific stay limitations. St Petersburg KOA has seasonal sites but significant waiting list because of their 5/7 program. Half the park are long term seasonals. Roberts is OK.

Thanks. We found a place for October and November. Just need a spot for a December now. Will try Roberts.

We use the KOA when we visit Joyce's brother pretty much every other year.

We have left messages at Roberts with zero reply. KOA gets pricey and hard to get into (availability). May have to try them anyway.
