adam424 take out the washer/screen and flip it around and put it back in the hole. When you install your hose to suck up the antifreeze the hose pushes on the washer /screen to keep the check valve open. Works perfect. Had the same problem last year doing my winterizing the first time on my 3791rd camper. Service guy gave me that tip,he said he,s figured out the valves are stronger then the pump to overcome the spring to suck it open. Also when done winterizing, flip back the washer/screen so it stays closed for next year camping.

Thanks for your help, I just don't want to do something wrong. So i take the screen out of the lower inlet and flip it and use it in the top one? Sorry for being a Noob.

adam424,on my camper i had those cone screen in all 3 of the inlets. But yes turn it around so it pushes the valve open and attach hose for antifreeze operation. When done remove it or flip around so valve will close. Also don't forget to either blow out the fresh water tank fill line by switching it to fill for a minute to blow that line out then flip it back to normal operation.

I havin't turned my ice maker on since it was new. I'm at a seasonal site this year for the first time and i don't drink the water from campground, since i have been camping over 20 years. Mine water is turned off for the ice maker under the kitchen sink. I'm sure someone will reply to you how to do ice maker.

Ours came from factory in Feb. 2018 with antifreeze in ice maker and supply line to it.

I was told to do it the same way the factory did, so the 28th of this month I will put a jug of antifreeze in my convienence center and hook it up to water pump and turn it on for a day or 2. When it starts putting pink slushy cubes in ice tray, it will be done.

My freeze guard hose connector will not draw using pump either and not sure why. We have a 3931FB so we have need to get it flowing to avoid issues.
Thanks, Gary

That should do the trick for you by getting the screen flipped around to push valve open, just flip it back around when done so valve closes again. Good luck.

I had the same problem. After talking to a friend with the same problem, I found out it was sucking air, in other words not getting enough seal at the hose connection. Tighten hose carefully or add a rubber washer. Hope this helps.

I only have one quick disconnect in the convenience center and it's for the remote shower. How did you get antifreeze in there? Also, does anyone know what the hose connections are in there? Mine has no labels.

I had the same issue, and then realized it was the crappy flat rubber washer. I have switched to "O" rings on all hose fittings, and they have made all the difference. Once I switched to the "O ring" on the winterizing fitting, it pulled antifreeze like a champ. It just confirmed for me that switching to all O rings was the best way to eliminate leaks on the hose fittings.

Hi, Adam.

Did you get an answer to this question?
We ran into the same issue with our winterizing this weekend. We got it to pull anti-freeze, but it took some fiddling and it was that nipple that was causing the inabilty to get anti-freeze in the winterizing inlet.
Did you find a solution?

Thanks,

Hortense - this thread is 2 years old so you may not get an answer. Check dates at top left corner of postings.

Yeah, I thought I'd try it anyway.

Couldn't find anything else in here that discusses that nipple.

That nipple does come up from time to time during black tank flush discussions, but probably not something easily specifically searched for.
