Toilet water valve leak
When we entered our current campground, they had just got power back from recent snow/wind storm. They still had not gotten their water station fully back online. As a result of the latter, water pressure in the campground was VERY LOW! This situation probably caused a small particle to get lodged in our toilet's water valve, which in turn caused the valve to leak. This lead to the toilet bowl filling up...not good! Well, we thought the valve had gone bad, but this morning water pressure was back up and the water valve is working like a champ. Contacted Thetford to pass on the potential for low water pressure to cause an issue with the water valve...thought fellow MOCers would also like to know. Now, you might say "the valve is only ten bucks, why not just replace it?" Not a bad thought, but getting the valve delivered while moving from location to location could be an issue...also, I have looked at where the water valve is located on our Style II toilet, and frankly, not sure how to get the assembly off of the toilet to replace the valve. Hammer?

It's stuff like that happening that's the reason we use the water filters.

We use an inside filter for the kitchen cold water line (for drinking and cooking), but not for the toilet...now looks like you have a strong point for an exterior, all incoming water filter.

Thanks, Ozz. It appears that the water valve on our toilet (Aqua Magic Style II) is behind the foot pedal. How to remove the pedal is not immediately obvious (to me). I would guess that the pedal is pried off, but given most of these rv things are made of some kind of plastic, I am reluctant to start prying anything! My plan is to find out how to remove the pedal and then get a replacement water valve and a vacuum breaker from Thetford to add to my box of parts. Again, thanks Ozz.

I had to replace ours shortly after getting the rig. I called Thetford and told them our valve was leaking. They sent a new valve and "detailed" instructions (no charge of course) which I had in less than a week. It took about 15-20 minutes to install and has worked great ever since.
