Installing cameras
Anyone out there who has installed cameras on their Montana? I have purchased a rear view voyager 150 and a side mount voyager to install on the Montana. The truck is already wired for the two camera setup. I all the parts that I believe I need. Is this too difficult? Should I get it professionally done?

Be sure and up-date us on how you like it after you get it installed. I’ve thought of adding one on the back and entertained the thought of having one for the roof showing the high point in front with a small marker. Of course it would need to be able to switch from one camera to another easily.

Thanks Rich. Did you run rear view cable under the trailer? Where did you place the connector for trailer to truck?

Yes we ran it under the 3400 because that was the easy way out. We ran it into the propane compartment, up into the floor of the bedroom, over to the closet then down into the pin box.The connector for truck to camper corner of the bed near the cab to keep it out of the way and out of the weather. I am sure there are better ways to do it. Been installed for nearly three years with no problems...

Thanks for all the great information. I am currently installing a camera on my truck and the Monty. This information will be of great value to me when I start this week.

I hear there are now "wireless" cameras but I am pretty sure that has its own share of nuances - like worrying about receiver/transmitters and power for all these components.
Nevertheless the wiring sounds like it will be a lot of fish-tape threading and time which would be a lot cheaper than hiring a technician at $50-$75 per hour. After all, don't we just work for beer? Even if you got a good friend to help, the cost is some good tunes and a six-pack or two. But use caution, there's nothing like 3 hours of wiring done by a couple of beer drunks.

We went for the option of the rear camera on our (SOB). This will be our first camera. But we are or will be double towing. And DW thought it would be a good idea. GBY....

The newer wireless systems are only wireless from the truck to the nose of the camper a very short distance If I were purchasing now I would go with that system
