Question Fireplace electrical out not working

Greetings,
This weekend our fireplace quick working. Took it out and plugged into another outlet and it worked. Got a new outlet and had problems installing due to no crimping tool. Saw a video on line to convert it to a regular house outlet nothing. Notice that the wire goes into something called a MOLEX connector. Not sure what this does or how to determine if it is bad. Anyone have any suggestions.

Thanks
Happy Camping

I believe that connecter changes the wire from romex to SO cord. Could be a bad connection there. Unplug it and check for voltage on the incoming SO cord side.

Assuming you have checked the breaker to make sure it is not tripped, that connector would be the next place I would check. Does the connector have any appearance of having been overheated? Often a poor wire connection in a connector will cause overheating and the connector discolor.

Thanks for the writeup. I have been told the plug is not grounded. Do you know how if a wiring diagram exists that we could trace

My understanding is that Keystone does not have wiring diagrams because the wiring depends upon the juice carpenter working that day and what mood he/she is in.
In ours, 3791RD, the fireplace quit working when a tech ran a screw through the wire in the outside wall trying to fix the loose half wall behind our recliners. They almost sent it back to Elkhart for that. I'd start looking around the living area to see if any other outlets are not working. We had an outlet behind the recliners that went out when the screw shorted the circuit.

A volt ohm meter and a basic understanding of how to use it will make trouble shooting an electrical issue much simpler.
