Does anyone with a 3400RL have Gel Coat?

Gene, we have the gelcoat on our 3295RK and really like it. Is your question specific to the 3400?

I did not order the gel coat on my 3400RL, but sure wish I did. The next coach will have it for sure.

Steve, I guess it would be for the 3400 because that is the one I'm ordering in a couple of weeks. I'm asking because of the 600 pounds it adds to the weight of the trailer.

it add about the same on my 3685. as long as your not close to your weight limit on your truck it should be fine. my truck pulls it like it's not even there!

Not usre about Billy Rays unit but we have 2005 3685FL with high gloss gel coat it's beautiful. But betweeen what the literautre says and what the acutual wieght was dry according to inside the cabinet door is only 380lbs. Worth it even if it's 600 lbs, cleans up so ezasy and makes beautiful unit.

one of my reasons for getting the gel coat was purely selfish and jealousy motivated.

I previously owned a 3655FL prior to this one...it didn't have the gel coat. It was parked in a site next to one that did have it. I found myself constantly staring at that unit instead of my own. when I bought this unit and spent way too much $$$$$$$$$ I wasn't about to sit another summer looking at someone elses unit wishing that I had gotten it.

nope. lots of conflicting answers though. it's at the dealers now . they will have it for quite awhile. they have to pull out the front livingroom slide for some repairs.

Gene, that's the same number they say for ours. 600 lbs. I find it hard to believe it weighs that much, though. With the gel coat and all other options our UVW on the plate in the cabinet is only 400 lbs higher than the published UVW for our model with no options, no battery, no propane tanks.

In any case, I doubt you'll notice the difference in the towing of it. And you'll sure enjoy the easier maintenance and the nice shine. If we ever buy another, it will definitely also have the gel coat like this one does.

Steve, Not to worried about being able to tow it. More worried about the amount of other stuff I won't be able to take along. It takes off of the payload.

Gene, it finally dawned on me tonight why (I think) nobody's weights come in at 600 lbs more when they have the hi-gloss. I'd be willing to bet the hi-gloss does weigh 600 lbs. But your coach won't gain 600 lbs because you have to subtract the weight of the standard panels that are included in brochure weight estimates but are not on your rig. I'd bet the hi-gloss weighs maybe 200 pounds MORE than the standard finish. BUt that's a pure guess.
