Is this right
Picked up this 381th and I am wondering if all the shore power cords sit at a 90 degree angle like ours. Seems to me the power cord should be going straight down. Has anyone repositioned the electrical socket ? Sorry the pic is turned but you can see what I mean

you need to reset the part that is in the RV. It can be turned so that the power cord goes out and down.

It is very easy to rotate the plug receptacle so the cord hangs vertical. So much so that even if you have a warranty in effect, you can do this in less time than it takes to go to the dealer.

Thanks for the info. I am starting to question Montana's quality. This is just one of a few "quirks" I have found. I bought this camper as a used, one year old unit. The sad thing is the original owner had it brought to their residents and they never had a chance to use it due to an unforeseen health issue. The warranty has expired so we are on our own for any defects. I knew that going in but I thought I would see better quality in their workmanship. Still looking forward to the first shake down trip though. Glad there is this forum to fall back on. Thank you members!!!

I see that a lot you can rotate the inner part so that your shore power hangs like it should.

Just FYI, every single 381TH owner I know had the same issue! You would think by now the factory would catch on that this is very bad PR.
You will find there are a couple of common issues to the model. Several owners have reported having trouble with the bed lifting system. The slide out motors are also known for leaking. You need to get drip pans (call Keystone and they will ship to you for free). It's a band aid fix. So far we have been lucky not to have those issues.
Also there is a facebook page for 380/381TH owners. That floor plan is so unique it deserves special treatment!!!
We bought ours about a year ago as weekend warriors. Little did we know that we would be full timing (due to work) just a year later!
Best wishes for you.

Mine is the same. What I have a problem with is it is a quarter turn clockwise to lock. The weight of the cord brings it back to horizontal and I lose power on one side. I am thinking of turning it around so the downward pressure would keep it locked.

When you remove the socket on the rig to rotate it, be very sure to check and tighten the screws that make the electrical connections in the socket. There are many reports of electric problems that end up being loose connections in the socket or even in the trailer's electric panel, which is another location to check, both the 120 volt AC as well as the 12 volt DC connections.

I guess I am the exception to the rule. Have not had any issues. Well, kinda sorta. Noticed that with the furnace on the galley floor gets very warm in a direct line between the two vents. Mine must have been worked on only Wednesdays .

That seems to indicate that Keystone, at the factory and at the dealer, never even plugs these things in to do a QC check.

If a straight plug is used, you would never know there was a problem. Our rig came with a straight plug on our shore cord, but was lucky that when I added the right angle adapter, it hung down straight without turning the receptacle. Most of the workers assembling these rigs don't have electricity at home, so maybe it isn't something they are aware of
