Toilet cutoff valve

All of the stories about the Thetford Aqua Magic Style II toilets failing and causing a water overflow problem has had me worried. So today, I installed a Sharkbite push connect ball valve cutoff in the line behind the toilet.

I was concerned about the ease and reliability of the Sharkbite push connect type of junction, but after playing the the valve and some scrap pieces of 1/2" PEX, I decided to give it a go in the Monty. Could not have been easier to install. No leaks yet and the cutoff works. What more could you ask?

Did the same thing Jim as we had the flood in our last rig so that was the first thing we did when we got the new rig home....

Peace of mind for $15.

I want the 320, but not real sure how to measure to assure it will fit. My toilet is mounted at an angle in the toilet room.

Put those valves on all my faucets and the toilet last February, been over some really bad roads since, and everything is still good.

While we shut off the city water when we leave the RV, a leak in the middle of the night would cause the same kind of problem and a unpleasant surprise in the A.M.
Reasonable precautions without getting crazy are a good idea.

Jim, the bolts that your your present toilet to the floor flange are at the center of the toilet output pipe. Measuring from bolt to wall gives you where they mounted flange in the floor. One can "eyeball" distance from center of bolts to rearmost projection of toilet or measure from top by tape measure at back of toilet at top to what your eye tells you is the center of the bowl exit. The new toilet measurements are in the documents online or you can put your tape on a toilet in the store. And you can start a new post to get the attention of people that own the same rv as you and who have made the switch to get conformation that it will fit. John

Just started the new post. I'll try to measure using the bolt holes. Thanks, Jim
