Newbie, 3075RL, Can F250 pull this???

Please help, I have a 2008 F250 Superduty, Diesel 6.4. King Ranch.
I am looking at purchasing a 3075RL, I know I am ok on towing but with a hitch weight of 2450 pounds and the truck cargo stated capacity (door jam sticker) at 2200 pounds, can this truck safely pull this 5th wheel? Is anyone using this type of truck to pull this Montana?
Thanks
James

Ford has already told you what is "safe" for their product and has put it in writing for you by putting the sticker in the door with the VIN number of your truck.

If you are looking for a second opinion, be sure to get that in writing also.

Good question, the answers are so varied as to confuse. Do your research and decide based on what you find.

Looks like you answered your own question. 2450 - 2200 = 250 over weight before adding the weight of after market accessories, the hitch, passengers, cargo and everything else we toss in our trucks.

All I can tell you is we towed a 2003 3295RK and a 2007 3400RL with a 2005 Ford F250 diesel. I added airbags to strengthen the rear suspension to keep the truck's ride level. Otherwise it wanted to sag an inch or so under the 3295's very heavy pinweight. We put 85k on the truck with not a single weight related problem. The tires lasted 70k miles. We were over the ratings and I knew it. Handling was never a problem, not even questionable. Braking was as good as my F350 Ford and my 3500 Dodge. Same brakes on the Ford F350 and F250, by the way. In fact, the only difference between your F250 and the F350 single rear wheel is the rear suspension and the numbers on the decals. If you have a friend who is a Ford diesel truck engineer, like I do, you can talk to him about it. Just be aware you'll be over some of the ratings. It's not illegal in the USA but there is always the potential that some lawyer may try to say your being over the ratings caused an accident. You have to make this call yourself. I'd suggest you look both at the thread about what truck do you tow with and look at the signatures on this forum. And look around the campgrounds and the rigs going down the road. I figure if it's a problem there ought to be at least one media article out there about it. I've been looking for years and still haven't found it. We've been fifthwheeling for 13 years and fulltiming for more than five towing with 3/4 ton and 1 ton single rear wheel trucks. It just isn't a problem with the weight of the Montanas. That's not to say you can tow just anything with it, though.
