Getting Older

Found this on the internet...thought it was appropriate for this topic. Author unknown.

I've sure gotten old!
I've had two bypass surgeries, a hip replacement,
new knees, fought prostate cancer and diabetes
I'm half blind,
can't hear anything quieter than a jet engine,
take 40 different medications that
make me dizzy, winded, and subject to blackouts.
Have bouts with dementia.
Have poor circulation;
hardly feel my hands and feet anymore.
Can't remember if I'm 85 or 92.
Have lost all my friends. But, thank God,
I still have my driver's license.

Sad to say but very true in a lot in instances--we will all be there some day--when I reach that point I am sure that I will think that I can still drive--just watch out for me coming down the road with the Montie hooked on!!!!!!

I was a police officer in Louisiana for ten years, I think I stopped that guy going the wrong way on the freeway.

When my Dad turned 100 years old and it was time for his drivers license renewal, the state of Texas renewed his by mail, for 5 years, yep that was correct, 5 years. When that time expired they did not renew. He expired at 106 years of age.

A lot of these "old people" need to get to the grocery store, pharmacy, and doctor's office. A lot of them have no body to help them get around especially in rural parts of the country. I feel sorry for them.

We will all be there sooner or later.
