Southwest in the Fall

Is Late October and into November to late to visit the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, and Zion Canyon?

Thinking about after the Fall Rally and heading that way.

We have visited Zion and Bryce the end of October (Halloween) and it was chilly (29 degrees one morning), but beautiful. All the trees were changing color.

It will probably be cold, but as Dave stated, beautiful. Just don't plan your schedule on a "must move today basis". I've been to Yellowstone in late August and had it snow so at higher elevations you just never know. That time of year it will melt fast, however.

Sounds great! The North Rim of the GC will be closed around that time due to snow. The South Rim will be cold to cool but great! Lots to see out West--but winter arrives at the higher altitudes sooner than you might think. Bryce will be cold but I would think Zion would be warmer.

Agree with the others. That should be a good time to visit those areas unless Winter comes earlier than normal. Like Dick, we got snowed on in August at Yellowstone, up at the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. One really nice thing about that time of year is most of the tourists are gone. It's quiet. You can go at your own pace. Just layer your clothing as the temperatures will vary rapidly.
