Washer/dryer

Hello! Was wondering if I could get some feedback regarding washer/dryer combos. Vented or ventless. Pros & cons.

We have a vented model and love it. the ventless takes longer to dry. I would also think you may get more moistier from no vented model, I'm not sure if that is true or not.
The combos take at least 2 to 1/2 hours for a load. most time will put a load in before going out and by time where back there washed and dried. your loads are also small so we do use it almost every other day so we don't pile up with dirty cloths. All in all we like not having to go to the laundry mats.

I have a ventless model. Do not under any circumstances get a ventless one unless you just love to hear a washing machine run because it will run and run and run. You get the idea.

Wife loved our Splendide combo vented. Yeah, small loads and fairly long cycle times. But we would put in a load of laundry, set it to wash and dry, go out and do what ever we might have planned, and come back to a clean dry load of laundry.
Repeat if necessary.

Splendid Vented, Stackable. They are 2 separate shelves, not actually "stacked". Secret to RV washing machine success ... smaller loads. Compared to our front loader in the hosue, it takes time and patients, and lots of attention until you get the hang of it. They error out for everything. Learning where that limitation is takes some time to figure out.

Would not have a ventless one. I tried rigging up a ventless dryer in a previous house we lived it. It pumped so much moisture in the air, the house felt like a steamy sauna every time we did laundry. I finally disconnected all that, and ended up venting it back outside and said ... never again. So when it came to the RV, it was a vented dryer. No regrets getting the stackable.

Do note which way the door opens. They come fixed in this position. Mine work well, after learning them, but we sure do wish the doors on both could be reversed. But they can't.

X2 what DutchmenSport said. We have stackable vented.
Used them for the first time on our recent October trip. They are great!

I suppose - like any front load washer - you really have to leave the door open as much as possible to let it dry out real good and not smell moldy.
We had the units installed in mid-July. We did not use the washer until October 1 or so. When DW opened the washer door for the first time on the trip it smelled moldy. Installer tested both units and we did not know to leave the door open so it would dry out. So I suppose 10 weeks of the door closed in a RV in Texas summer heat…it did not smell fresh!

Anyway - is this the proper procedure to prevent moldy smell? We have been diligent to leave the door open overnight or as much as possible, and moldy smell is gone.

We have splendide separates mounted side by side. I would not full time without them, period. I was in Camping World looking at Montana’s when I saw the RV detainers using them. These things were yellow from the sun. I asked how many loads they do and it’s 3 or 4 daily and the same machines had been in use for at least a few years. They don’t fix them either, had another set ready to go that came out of a used RV. I live for this kind of recommendation!

The units supplied by Montana are FANTASTIC. Splendide Ariston is the brand, front loading side by side and I guess can be stacked. I would never use anything but vented. They are easy on water (like most front loaders) and the washer can be run on my inverter no problem, but silly to use the dryer, just hang them in the sun if boondocking.

Vented, non combo. Have owned 4 different w/d in 5 separate rigs. Have friends with the combo units who are not happy with them. I have only owned vented stackable.

Splendide

I have a vented Splendide 2300. I’m very happy with it. I wouldn’t go without it.

Waher/dryer

Had the vented combo and agree with folks that's the one to go with. I'd recommend the stack able if you have room. Only other thing I'd add to the conversation is you'll probably want a front tripod to minimize the vibration inside the trailer( still worth every penny as opposed to laundromats ) and maybe extra type of rear stabilizers depending on where the unit is located.

We have the Splendide, vented washer and dryer and love them. Even though my family uses our trailer for vacations, now after having a washer & dryer, I would never want another trailer without them.
