Would help to know your model and year. Older models had conventional P traps. Newer models have waterless Hepvo valves with an internal diaphragm. If you can see under the shower floor you can tell which it has.

It helps to get correct answers if you supply the year and model of your RV.

The most common causes are a clogged drain screen or a "junked up" HepvO" valve. The HepvO valve replaces a "P" Trap. It is easy to remove and clean. DO NOT run a snake or brush down the drain to clean it! Guaranteed you will then be buying a new one.

Our 2010 had a hepvo valve (google it) on that drain instead of a P trap. It's usually located in the basement and can be removed by loosening the end connections. Do not run something down the drain or use anything but a soft brush to clean it or you will damage the membrane inside and have to buy a new one. We use a drain screen in the shower to catch the hair and keep the valve clean without having to do anything with it.

I have this problem with the Hepvo and I can fix it every time by tapping the drain quickly with the ball of my foot a few times when there is water in the pan. Yes I am that lazy…

We have screens in all our drains to keep crap out of the holding tanks. Go to a Flea Market and you can usually find a set of 3 or 4 for a buck and they'll last a few years. Just remember to clean the stuff out of the screens on a regular basis.
