What Route from Michigan to Columbia, South Caroli
As I look at the map and consider routes to Columbia,South Carolina it looks like I might encounter steep grade using some of the more direct routes such as 81 East out of Knoxville then 40, 26 or 77 South toward Columbia. I was wondering if anyone could provide any suggestions or recommendations about the roads we might use to pull to Columbia that would minimize steep grades?
We have a 2006 Chevy 2500HD diesel with Allison transmission and pull a 37 foot Montana High Country that would be 12,500 pounds max. Our truck does not have an exhaust brake. I've pulled from Michigan to Florida via 65 and 75 in the past.
We would also appreciate any suggestions regarding good RV parks or storage facilities near Columbia that you might be able to offer.
