Bought one (Rand McNally RVND 5510) at the Good Sam Rally in Redmond, OR. Played around with it for two days. Took it back. It was very slow, kept freezing up and basically nonresponsive when you pressed the screen buttons. Sometimes had to press them 5 or more times to get it to respond. Fortuneatly, since I got it at the Rally from Rand McNally, they took it back. Two other folks at the Rally I know bought it and had they same problem. They also returned theirs.
I ended up purchasing the Magellan 9165T. Also a Good Sam RV type navigation system. It performed flawlessly. It also has a 7" screen vs a 5" screen. Great unit for us RVers! You enter all your RV dimensions and it routes you according to your dimensions. Also has a programable "one touch" feature allowing you to configure you favorite things on one page...like "find the closest deisel stations" (my favorite button!)

We have had 3 Magellans, never lasted more than a year. We bought the Rand McNally about three weeks ago and have used it every day, so far we love it. We bought it a Camping World
with the 3 year over the counter return warranty. Paid $388.00 with tax, warranty and the renewal of Good Sam for one more year.

I was also one who returned the Rand GPS. It kept freezing and was unresponsive to screen touches. Very cumbersome to change routes. Some of the routes it came up with were unbelievable. Might try the Megellan and see if it works any better.

All I can say is our Rand McNally works great. I will never have another Magellan, none lasted me a full year. That why the make more than one brand, nothing works for everyone.

Our Rand is working great also.. Only thing I can complain about is not having all the POI up to date yet.. The park we are at now in Casper is a year old and not in the campground section..It is in the Trailer Life book so Rand should have it too. Also couldn't find Olive Garden that has been here a couple of years.. We do get new updates almost weekly though so I think it is just a matter of time before they get everything in.. They do not charge for the updates.

I looked over the owner's manual for the R-M, and wasn't terribly impressed. Apparently you can't load your own POI files, which is important to me.
Garmin has a new dezl 560 which has both truck and RV profile capabilities. List is $530 with lifetime maps and traffic. It's on my wishlist.
