Route thru Utah I-15 to I-80

Has anyone taken the bypass highway 40/189 from Provo to Heber City and then into Silver Creek Jnction? Or is it best to stay on I-15 to East I-80? It looks to be mountainous & slower compared to I-15 but probably very scenic. Thanx Dave

Went the opposite way last Fall. Good road and you miss that long pull East of Salt Lake.

Thank you bigmurf for the great route around Salt Lake City. It was wonderful and missed everything. Found our way to Moran Wyoming for the summer, what a beautiful trip. Had to go thru Evanston, WY , Kemmerer, BigPiney and Hoback because of the slide between Alpine and Hoback, even had to stop and wait for a Buffalo to cross the road before we got to our destination. We are set up for the summer and looking forward to exploring The Tetons and Yellowstone. Thanks again, the MOC always seems to know...
