Reaching Goals

Seven new states on our map. Today we started our visit in Washington. Maybe we will add Minnesota and Wisconsin next year.

congrats... you've only got four left anyway besides Minnesota and Wisconsin, there's Alaska and Hawaii. Then off to conquer Canada.

!2 more states toured for us- Ala., Miss., Fla., Ga., S. and N. Car., Vir. and W. Vir., Penn., Maryland, Del., and N. Jersey. Visited many historical sites, including the Smithsonian museums in D.C. The ultimate goal was Ellis Island where our ancesters LEGALLY entered this wonderful nation of ours. Then we found out our forebears had entered before Ellis Island was in use- So we have a new task trying to secure copies of documents verifying their arrival at Battery Park on the New York side of the river- There are internet sites to explore that have documentation as well as the Archives facility in D.C.- Perhaps another trip east is in the cards if our health remains good and diesel prices are reasonable- Don

Congratulations on all of your travels!
Just curious, what rules do you use for placing a state on your map. On ours, if we travel through a state the state gets flagged.

We added Kansas and Arkansas and will add Wisconsin this summer.

If I look in the rear view mirror and there is a camper attached to the truck we must be camping so the State counts.

Enjoy your visit to Washington. It was great meeting and talking to you at the Spring Rally.

We have decided that we have to stay at least one night in the state to mark it off. Just traveling through does not count for us.

It's the same as MAMalody for us. If we stay overnight in a state, it gets flagged.

We added some more too. If we are there, we count it. We hope to add some more western states starting this winter.

We tend to spend at least one night in each state we traverse or visit a historical or scenic area- All states have something of interest to us- Old buildings in small towns, spectacular waterfalls, or rock formations head the list for us- Don
