San Francisco RV Parks
Hi all, I need to know where some good and safe rv parks are located in and around the S.F. Bay Area. Has any stayed at the Candlestick RV Park? Could you also let me know how far from the downtown area they are?

We are staying at Betabel RV Resort long term. Most people say it is the best park in the greater Bay Area. We are 5 min south of Gilroy, 45 min to San Jose and 1 1/2 hours to San Francisco and 30 min to Monterey. It is also one of the least expensive with great people running it.

We stayed in Candlestick RV Park last Spring while visiting family and the Bay area.
It is basically a parking lot with hookups - VERY narrow spaces, almost touching the rigs on either side. They have an inexpensive shuttle into the city. At $70 a night it is was WAY MORE than any "park" we ever stayed in and WAY MORE than we ever want to pay again. But it was convenient for what we were doing at that time.

We stayed at candlestick a few years ago and was as David and Jo-Anna described. It was only about 10 minutes from the wharves. We were there for a week so we purchased a weekly transportation pass. We would drive to the first parking lot along the wharves, parked all day for $5 and rode the trolleys, buses and cable cars all over the city

Go North to the KOA in Petaluma. We stayed there for a couple of years on and off while I was working in Marin County. You can take the ferry into San Francisco. Also the park had tours you could take. It was great and well worth the money. This will also put you close to the Napa Valley and wine tasting.
Happy trails..................

A couple years ago we stayed at the San Francisco RV Resort. It is in Pacifica, about 15 Min. South of S.F. It was OK we had an oceanview site & at the time it was stormy like crazy and the ocean sounded like a train at your doorstep. Expensive as I remember. Dave
