Has anyone had any experience with Maxxiss tires?

If ya go in the search Function and type Maxxis you will see ALOT of posts and good reviews on these ST tires and also google them and you will get the same response as some folks with older LIGHTER 5er's and trailers use them BUT and I mean BUT a lot us with the bigger newer Monty's go with G rated 14 ply LT's of some other brand and would never use ST E rated tires anymore of ANY brand as they are not the right tool for the job

If the weight is right many on the forum have had great experiences with them.

I went to the Maxxis website, but did not find any reviews. I read the article in the Sept Trailer life about them.

15K you're definitely a prospective member of the G rated 14 ply trailer tires. It is soooo nice to have tire issues in the back of your mind rather than a constant worry.

I bought Maxxis tires as my next set of tires for Monty. They've done great for me. At the time I paid $176 each for five tires, including the spare. Then I ruined 2 of them and found their price ballooned.
The only problem I have had and it was all my fault when I ruined the passenger side tires by getting too close to a curb that had a drop off for a storm drain and trapped the tires in the drain. It was not pretty and I messed up the sidewalls of both tires (popped one and the other looked real bad). I was able to get the trailer dragged out and ended up replacing the two busted Maxxis with something called Centara from a Ramona Tire store. Since I had two Maxxis on the driver's side, I went ahead and put the two Maxxis on same axle (rear), and the two Centaras are on the front axle. The third remaining Maxxis is a spare. So far, we have only been on one 400 miles round trip and the rest of the trips are no more than 15 miles.
It was during this event I found that the Maxxis tires are now over $200 each, and the Centaras I got for about $165 each (so I realize they are an expensive tire).

Purchased thru Amazon and had dealer install them on our Cougar TO. Would not use for the Monty.

I have had the Maxxis tires on for 3 years now and have experienced no problems so far. I keep them at max inflation and do not drive over 65mph. I will be upgrading to G tires in a couple of more years.
I have to tell you the reason I have Maxxis on. Before purchasing the Monty I had just replaced the tires on my SOB with Maxxis and had less than a 1000 miles on them. The Monty had the Marathons on and part of my deal to purchase was for the dealer to switch out the tires.
