Rt. 287 Yellowstone

We are probably going to stay at Grizzly RV Park in West Yellowstone in June. We wanted to come down Rt. 287 and visit Jackson Hole and those areas around there. Is that route down 287 okay for pulling Montana through? If so, any suggestions on CG around Jackson Hole or maybe just south of there?

We have towed from Yellowstone to Rawlins on 287 (and from Rawlins to Yellowstone) several times. Never thought of it as a problem.

Now, I do not have information from the last couple of years as regards construction, but this is our usual route to and from Yellowstone.

Joe, You will have no problem running 287. There is a really nice CG in Ennis if you need. When you come thru Yellowstone and head towards Dubois there is a pass there but its not to bad of a pull coming in from the west. They were fixing that whole road last time I was thru there. 3-4 yrs ago. Once you pass over and descend the Wind River Mtns are cool.
Theres a CG in Hoback. Right side of road on the river. KOA I think. Its always crowded with workers. Gro Ventre CG is just north of Jackson. it's FS CG. If your going south out of Hoback there is a CG called The Rim. We will be staying there in Nov. It's about 8-10 miles passed Bondurant. Please look us up when you get to Yellowstone. We will be at Red Rock RV for the summer. Shoot me an email if you have any questions.

Thanks David and JP for information. We were planning our route back from the state of Washington and that was about the only area I wasn't too sure of. Can't wait to experience that area in the Monte. Should be sometime in June JP and I will let you know. Thanks again.

We will also be in Grizzly RV park in June. Have reservations for 20-26 and will be arriving from Custer, SD where we will be for 6 days.

If I am reading the DW's reservation notes correctly, we have reservations in Grizzly RV Park for June 23 and 24. I will make a note on her note (that sounds confusing) so we don't forget to look you up!

The road from Dubois to the Tetons has been finished. It's a long steep pull but with your truck no problem. Enjoy.

Sounds good. I made a note that you made a note on your DWs note.

Unfortunately we had to cancel our planned trip to Mt Rushmore and Yellowstone due to medical reasons. We are having to stay close to Chattanooga in order to get the care that is required. Maybe next year. Hope you have fun.
