Introduction

Good evening all

To start out, I joined so i could read and learn about Montana RV's. What transpired next was the purchase of a 2004 318BHS Mountaineer. The folks we purchased it from had used about 5 or 6 times and treated it very well including covered storage. The 5er was practically new. This transpired about 2 years ago.

I really wanted to express my thanks to this forum. The more I studied, the more I read, the more I knew we had to purchase the Mountaineer.

We are in central Georgia. We could not be happier.

I also look forward to giving back.

Richard,
We researched fifth wheels for 3 years and belonged to the forum before we bought ours. We learned quite a bit that helped us make our decision. Welcome and join in the discussions. Everyone has something to contribute.

Welcome to The Forum. We also were lucky enough to find a pre-owned Montana last year...a 2008 that was used 3 times, still under warranty and about half the list price of a new one! Enjoy your new rig, and safe travels!

Welcome!

The Montana Owners Club (MOC) will be your premier source for information about your Keystone RV product and to make RVing an enjoyable experience.

There is so much information at first that you won’t know where to start, but just read what is interesting; don’t be shy, and post your questions to the field of experienced users. No questions are too big or too small; there is always someone who knows something about your inquiry.

Oh, did I tell you about the bonus? The bonus is the great group of people who share a common interest with you!

See if you can schedule a rally in your future so you can meet some of these wonderful members and learn new ideas first-hand!

From the time of this posting:
There are only 151 days until the 2009 Quartzsite Rally!
There are only 283 days until the 2009 Lake Siskiyou, CA Rally!

Good evening

My thanks for the warm welcome and all the responses !

Lets see here. Experiences ... Were to start ...

This summer ... So far
Changed the rear axle and installed Dexter EZ Flex kit. Rig also got new E rated tires.
Installed new cooling unit, had the dreaded yellow pile under the burner. Need to add, this is a Dometic unit, out of warranty meant this was out of pocket, labor was my own.

Oh and managed to dislodge a telephone pole that "was" warning of a low bridge ahead, it crushed the front right side of the bed ... This was Valentines weekend, made for a great start .... So ... Yes we have had some fun so far !!!

We just traded in the 2008 F250 Off Road 6.4 ... She had 16k on the clock, hated to do it. If I knew what I know, it would have been a 350 from the beginning. Our new tow vehicle is a 2009 6.4 F350 Dually, 4.10 rear axle, 13K GVWR, 8ft bed 4x4 lariat plus off road. White with gold trim. Our first tow with the new truck was this past weekend, what a difference.

A little more of my self, native Canadian, American by choice. Served US Navy 1980 through 1984. I work for an Engineering firm.

My wife is a native of Atlanta, not many of those about and I am one lucky guy to have found her. My wife has always been in Telecom.

We camp mostly to the south of Atlanta.

Once again thanks for the warm welcomes and responses. I will be certain to stay up to snuff and give back !

Have a great night all !!

Richard
