Toilet valve water pressure ??
It seems as though the water pressure filling the bowl has lessened over the last year, especially in the last 3 months.
I checked the Manf. manual to see if there is an adjustment screw but couldn't find anything relevant.
The water pressure in the shower, sink, and kitchen galley seems good and constant. I removed the outside water filter situation same, changed the screen in the water regulater, situation same, and even tried removing the regulater altogether, situation same. The Park water pressure is good where we are currently, a neighbor with a class A has a gage reading 65psi.
There is a slight amount of play in the foot pedal but I can't see any adjustment screw to tighten it up
Anyone experience this and any recommendations for a fix...?

jpf, Check the search function. I believe within the last month or so there was a post similar to yours and the remedy was cleaning the water valve at the toilet.
Rick.
I just found the post, The thread is named "Sluggish Toilet" in the maintenance section of the forum.

Jerry, if you don't have a manual with the info and don't find the adjustment you might call the manufacturer. They may send you a whole new water valve. There were some folks on this forum who had a problem with little water pressure and I think they were given a new valve, no charge.

The flow to ours became quite feeble. I removed the valve and could see nothing clogged, poked and prodded and blew backwards through it with air and nothing helped. I called Thetford and asked them about it and they sent us a new valve.

After reading the previous thread on this, I've decided we might all have some different brands, models. We cannot get to the valve without taking the toilet out and Ed says if he has to do that, he will just replace with a china bowl one. So that is on our list as soon as we get the Microwave fixed. Part has not come yet - ordered 2 weeks ago. Will call Monday if we haven't received it by then.

Get your manual out and call the maker, it will probally be Dometic , Thetford and Sealand both sold out to them . Call them and they will send you a complete new valve and seat system free. If you do not have their number, Keystone serv will provide it to you. Sorry, I do not have it handy or I would.

John
We know we can get a new valve or clean the old one, but we really want to upgrade the toilet. We had done this in our previous 5er and really regretted not switching as the toilet was only 6 months old. However, the day we did the move it was 104 and no AC hooked up.

Sue,
Our toilet is the Aquamagic by Thetford and you can remove the valve without removing the toilet. It's tricky but can be done, however the china toilet would be nice wouldn't it?

Would you share with us what toilet you replace it with and how it works? How much "trouble" if there is any? We are also looking to replace ours. I would look forward to this info.

Sue, replacing the toilet is a five minute operation unless you run into problems of some kind. I did ours.
There is one thing that could lengthen the time, however. The taller toilets generally have the water connection higher on the unit. That requires more water line. On ours, I was able to go down to the basement, remove those black rigid elbows protecting the water line, then have Vicki push up on those while I made the connection at the toilet. I did this in January 2005 and so far no problem. The other option is to replace with a longer line or splice in additional length.

Thanks for the advice. I tried disconnecting the water line and cleaning as much as would reach with a cue tip, seems like it might have gotten a little better. I saw Judy's comment on "banging on the commode" and others mentioning cediment buildup in another thread. So, I tapped gently around the perimeter of the valve with a small tack hammer a number of times and voila !!! a steady stream of water just like new.
I did notice particles that might have been sawdust but who knows...

The toilet replacement is fairly simple as Steve says. We did ours in less than an hour on our previous 5er. It took longer because we did have to replace the water line as Steve mentioned some need longer lines because they are taller. We have to make a trip to Camping World to look as the one we used before is not on their website. I'm kind of hoping I can get Ed to spring for one that has the extra hose to rinse. We'll see. I'll let you know when we do it within the next couple of months. Too hot now - we are back in the triple digits.

Don't make it any more difficult than needs be, like I did. Dosconnect the top water fitting in back after turning off the water and flushing, remove mount bolts, pull toilet out. Remove the clear flush lihe and blow it out or clean w/a cotten swab. Reassemble and Voila.

If I may add just one thing to Chris' excellent instructions - have a piece of cardboard or board handy to cover the hole when you remove the toilet. Or an odor filtering face mask.
