Kitchen slide not fully retracting

Owner of a 2006 3400rl...upon retracting the slideouts today; bedroom slide fully retracts, kitchen galley slide engages but stops after about 5 inches into retraction. If memory serves me correct, just about the time slide is supposed to tilt.....any suggestions to correct are appreciated....ty

When the slide stops, do you hear the hydraulic pump motor still running? The reason I’m asking, if it stops, does it start moving again after you wait a little while? I’m thinking if it does start to move again if you push the retract button again, maybe your auto reset breaker is failing and with just that little extra resistance to move the slide in over that hump the breaker may be tripping.

Bob, the pump motor does seem to be running when it stops. After a short rest it will not resume retraction. Also, at this point the lights operating off of 12 volt are dimming/flickering. I will add that the slides readily go back out....ty

Sounds like low voltage with the flickering lights. What is battery voltage?
Is the converter charging the batteries and/or making 12V?

If the slide stops and the pump is still running and the pump sound changes to sound like it is lugging/straining, then it sounds like something is blocking the slide from continued travel. The pump sound will change like that when my slides fully open or fully close and the pump strains to keep pumping fluid when there is no where for the fluid to go. That is when I release the switch as I know the slides have reached full travel. When the pump strains like that, it slows down the motor, and that causes increased current flow. And that can cause lights to dim.

Look everywhere you can to make sure there is nothing that looks like it is blocking the slide. Maybe something outside under it that has come loose. Might watch under the slide while wife tries to close the slide and see if anything doesn't look right. Or something inside on the floor and catching the slide as it comes in.

What do other living area slides do?

It would be interesting to know if it was the battery or CB. Did you change both at once?

CB

Are you talking about the 50amp breaker that they say is under sized and should be replaced by an 80amp breaker ??

I elected replaced both the the battery (it was an 08') and the 50 amp cb (more than likely the original)....it is working fine, now....
