Unless they are defective there is no need to replace them.

Can I ask why? A capacitor when they fail, they fail, will work normal until then. even a new one might not last as long as the one you now have.

I agree, some last for 20 years, some do not, as stated, the new one will probably fail quicker, as they find cheaper and cheaper ways of making them each year. The plant that was shut down 2 years ago when there was a shortage was down in Mexico.
If you want, just buy one and throw it in the drawer for an emergency.

In our limited experience, the OEM airs do not come with hard start capacitors, so we added one.

Any generic hard start kit would work within the ratings, the electronic ones are good, you don't need the cap and relay combo that way: http://compare.ebay.com/like/110915534400#
The dual, or split caps serve both the compressor and the fan motor.
I will look and see if I can find that, where did you fin the numbers you posted?

I searched and came up with zip and pip, all I found was a heat pump. You might have to remove the cover and get the numbers off of yours, they are on the cap. When I searched i found hard start kits come with the heat pumps, maybe not regular units I don't know, haven't looked at mine. Some hard start kits are really compact, only 1 1/2" round, some black some blue on the smaller A/C units.
I don't work on the RV units, but they are basically window units on vacation

Hard-start capacitors are sold for a range of A/C sizes, the one Michael bought is for 1/2 H.P. to 10 H.P., so you can see it is not critical which one you get. 1 H.P. is a 12,000 BTU, or 1 ton unit.
The run cap's are different, you need to replace them with the same one, actually you can fudge a little in a pinch, but it is best to replace a 5 MFD 45 440 with the same (as an example size)
The dual capacitors, or 'split' caps have one common terminal and a 'herm' marked: (Compressor) and a 'fan' marked terminal, don't mix these wires up.
