Next time we take them with us!

We had Thanksgiving at our daughter's place in San Jose, CA. They live in a small apartment and since we were having a sizable gathering and since our son's young daughter is afraid of dogs we decided to leave our guys in the trailer.

Our daughter has a small Chawenie so if we had taken our three I'm certain chaos would have followed! We do not like to leave them alone. So we stayed for about 3 hours and then decided we had better get home so they could go for a "walk".

Opened the door to our trailer having shredded tissue from one end to the other! Check out the sight on our Picasa pages. The evidence is in the album "The Gang". Bandit is wearing his "guilty" face.

I guess from now on we'll take them with us regardless of circumstances.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. We certainly did.

Dennis and Mary Kay

Dennis, I am sorry that I am laughing pretty good on this one. They do have a way of showing there not a happy camper don't they. Our dog (kid) does this on ocassion also. Something about them tissues. But she only gets a couple out and shreads it to bits. So now you see why I think its funny. Kids...........lol

one of our cockers likes to steal the used kleenex from the wastebasket in the bathroom, so we starting putting the basket up high. So then he learned to steal the roll of toilet paper, let it string along behind him to the bedroom and eat it as he goes along the streamer. We had to start closing the bathroom door when they are left unattended!

Years ago we had a cockapoo that every time we would go away and leave her she would get in the trash in the bathroom and make a mess with the kleenex. We always thought it was kind of funny, and it looks like they thought the same thing.

You know what they say, "when mom and dads away the boys will play". Or is that cats and mice???

Dennis, First time I saw those kids in Kerrville I thought they might be trouble. They just looked too innocent parading around the park. Why am I only seeing Mary Kay on the broom?? Hope you have a great holiday season. Jim & Linda

Dennis, It is definitely NOT breed specific as my Lab, Villa, will eat any paper product we leave down when we go out. Last thing we do before going out is check for anything she could eat. I had a prescription refill box sitting out one day to refill and when we got home it was in a thousand pieces. Couldn't even read the Rx number. Good thing we use Wally
World as they had it on file. Glad it is just paper products and not wood or cushions.......Gotta love 'em!!!!

Just like a kid Dennis, HaHa. are you sure they didnt have a alergy attack and used the tissue for there sneezing? It sounds like they were inertained by each other. some times thats why a soft fold up crate works best for situations like that when you want some free time from the babies, your luck it was just tissue and not the pillows or couch stuffings, as we all have seen on TV's AFV show.

Dennis,
You guys are so blessed! The first time Maddy did this to us we were so angry. Now we just laugh. By the size of the mess you have to wonder what they are thinking. Are they punishing us or are they bored and making fun? Either way ya gotta luv-em! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving.
Later,
WorkerB.....John

Be thankful the Monty only has 1 bathroom. We had a mini schnauzer that would, on occasion when left alone, unroll tp from our s&b (2.5 baths). Double roll tp is a lot of tissue.

How funny. Reminds me of our kids when they were little - "it wasn't me." Pets have a way of always making us smile.

Don't you just love them!!! I guess they thought you needed something to do after all that dinner you had, and left them out.

Thanks to everyone who has responded. You can't help but love 'em! They are just too cute! And I'm so happy to learn that I am not the only one to have such well behaved dogs!

Thanks for sharing your wonderful stories and mis-adventures.

It has been over a year or longer that Bandit and Buddy had done any major damage so it might simply have been time for a more important episode. But I think it was probably the addition of a third member that made the major difference. Yep, that's right, Doug, We're now a 3 dog family! Spike came to our family about 2 weeks ago. Cute little story to follow:

Mary Kay was getting lunch at the corner Subway. A mail lady comes by in her truck as MK is leaving. Stops her and shows the dog and the fact that she was afraid it would get killed (this is a very busy intersection) and she can't take dog to the pound so asks Mary Kay to take the dog. So in walks Mary Kay with a cross between Bandit and Buddy. The colorings and markings are VERY similar.

We checked in the neighborhood and on the internet and with the animal control folks and no one reported him missing. So please welcome Spike to our family! Our daughter may end up with him if he can get along with her new little pup. Otherwise someone at Q will be the proud owner of a new DoxieSpaniel! or something.

Dennis

One more and you will have the makings of a sled team. Also, Baxter thinks he's cute.
