rv deck

Does anyone in Monty land have any experience with Sunrise portable RV decks. The wife is always complaining about the steps and I just saw a demo of thier product on video.

no, we just built a set out of wood and carpeting. we went to the local lumber store and bought premade stair stringers and cut the wood to fit, then stapled some blue carpet on to match.

I emailed this company and they replied back with prices.
I think we will go visit them as we are work camping in Ft Worth and they are just down the road near Tyler. I asked if they allow visits and they even offered to treat us to 1 or 2 nights in a park near them. They seem nice - hope the product is as nice - I too watched the video looked really cool.
The current price for the Kingston 18 with a 45 inch square platform and adjustable legs "18 inches to 30 inches" is:
Normal Price $774
Sale Price $724
EXTRA Special Price for Feb 06 $624
This is what they quoted in the reply

Will follow up further if we get a chance to actually go check them out.

Laura

I go along with BillyRay. I could build many decks for 700 bucks.

And what was with the idiot in the video? Even a child could figure out how to carry a laundry basket and still open the door.

Cheryl wanted to know what idiot would ever try to enter an RV that way. It really was a little ridiculous. They could have portaryed something a little more real life. Those steps really are not a lot of fun.

I think the big plus here, Glenn, is the portability. Anything that someone would make out of wood would not be nearly as light or portable from site to site. Wood built would be cheaper, but if you moved around frequently (I don't know where that line would be) it wouldn't be practical to continually run down to the lumber yard everytime you pulled into a CG for a 2 weeks stay. Also, nice to be able to jusr throw something together quickly like this.

I really like that idea for the deck.Does it come with the carrying bag as well for the 7oo bucks???The only problem I could see is waking up in the morning to step out on your little deck-and it an`t their.I think if you had it(I haven`t seen one in person)you would be the talk of the camp ground.

I seen the RV deck at Q site Show it is only 3 feet deep and about 5 feet wide. the steps have a little to be desired kinda cheap in construction and light weight material. I think a hand made one would be better and with a custome look.

King of the Road fifth wheels have a deck that slides out from under the coach. It is mounted to the coach directly, here is a link with a small picture.

Might be worth looking into what they offer for their decks.

Yea,, They could have done without Jerry L----- in the video. The main thing for us in that first drop inside the door . She was not used to it and it almost sent her head over heels. Building one is a fine idea if you are there. I am in the middle east and she is in the rv. The portable deck is light enough for her to assemble (no tools required) by herself. Remember,, when Momma ain't happy,, ain't Noooobody happy.

Dave,
I can do better than that, I have the entire brochure along with almost every other rv out there. My mailbox has at least 2 brochures a day in it. I just love the knowledge and try to get my hands on everything I can.
