Ford recall

Hope everyone has seen that Ford has recalled over 1 million F150 trucks, Expeditions, and explorers due to bad cruise control modules. I think at this time it only effects the smaller F150 type models and vehicles that utilizes that frame type. These faulty devices according to news media can cause fires.

There was something about it in Trailer Life, also. I thought the number was less than the million but still very substantial. While it's never nice to hear about a problem, it's at least nice that they are required to do the recalls rather than keeping us at risk. I also read there had been only 12 faulty ones discovered so far but they're recalling all of them to be checked out. The recall is for those built in a specific time frame. Ours was built a month after that timeframe so will not be recalled. Thanks for posting. I think it's a good idea to make sure these things are communicated.

2000-2001 models news the other night said 67 fires have occured, not sure if that's the facts or not but is what I heard.

This made me curious so did a quick search. Looks like the recall is "almost 800,000" and there have been "at least 36 incidents". http://www.vehicle-injuries.com/ford-fire.htm

Fortunately it looks like it doesn't affect the superdutys, just the smaller trucks. Still, there may be some members out there with one of these models.
