New Doors Under Refrig and Oven
Thanks to MOC Forum information, I have successfully installed the doors for the blank space under the oven and the refrigerator. This is simply one of the easiest improvments, a chance to use wasted space!
For those of you who need information on how to do it, here it is in a nutshell.
I ordered the door panels from Lowes called slab drawer front raw oak part number 400-119. They were built to be one inch wider and one inch longer. The new outside measurements are 25 x 6-1/8, and 21-1/2 x 7-1/4.(You should verify these dimensions on your rig) They are $26 each and are shipped out of Texas. It took about a week to be delivered to my local Lowe's in Seattle.
To stain them, I used Minwax PolyShades (Stain & Polyurethane in 1 Step) Classic Oak Satin 370. This was a perfect match.
I also used self-closing hinges, they were less than $2.00 per set, they came with the screws and bumpers. After staining it took me about five minutes to install them on the panels and to the cabinet.
Hope this helps, if you have additional questions, please let me know.

Robbie, we successfully made the same improvement to our rig. Glen bought a piece of raw oak and cut the panels himself, even made a shelf with the leftovers. It offers so much extra storage, expecially for large items (Cookie sheets, cake pans, etc) but I have trouble remembering that I have such a luxury and forget to look in there for missing items. Oh, well, I have trouble remembering a lot of things!
Congratulations on this great improvement.

This has been on my to-do list for a looooong time. Thanks for the part nos. and stain info - maybe you've simplified it enough for me to "git'er done"!

We did something similar except under the oven my son-in-law made a long drawer on slides that we use to keep the pots and pans. The space under the ref. wasn't as big so we just put in a pull down door on it. We also replaced all the blank panels in front of the sink cabinet with clip on fronts (look like drawers) which allow easy access to the pump, water heater and furnace. I discoverd that the 4 screws that held the winterizing panel in place were the same spacing as the drawer handles so I replaced them with matching handles from Lowes (~$3 ea)

For those of you who are awaiting the arrival of a new 2007 3400RL, you are going to be very happy. Keystone already has installed drawers under the oven and I think the fridge as well. I know the oven for sure. I looked at the new 3400RL w/ the cedar lined closets, while looking at the new counter tops I noticed the drawer under the oven. Looks like Keystone does listen to our ideas... =)

So, all of my effort at using blank space was wasted time and money?.....'cause now I find out that my 2006 Monty is out of date and I have to trade-up to a new 2007 to keep up?
.........my wife isn't going to like this.

We also utilized the space under the refrigerator and stove. We made our own door fronts and installed drawers behind them. We ordered handles from dealer to match other handles on cupboards. It is amazing how much room there is in these spaces.

On our 2005 2955RL there is a huge pull out drawer under the refrigerator. We use it for tall the pots and pans. Had to rebuild the drawer with screws and glue, the staples just don't do the trick.

RKassl,
We had to do the same rebuild on our drawer.

Rich,
If you get to the rally, (or to the factory, any other way,) it might be good to poke around and act meek. Never know if they might slip you the makings for that drawer.
Personally, I'd be happy with whatever facing they use on it. I can make a solid drawer, but would have a little difficulty matching the finish of the rest of the area.

Rich, did they have a drawer also under the frige?
Steve, the finish as a result of the stain and wood listed above that I used, . . . . can't tell it didn't come from the factory!
I just put the door on both the frige and the stove areas, but did not get a drawer, hope this works for me when we start the fulltiming in October, a drawer would be nice.
