340 vs 365 (or 3400 vs 3665)

We are torn between the Big Sky 340 and the 365. The separate bathroom is appealing, as is the darkened bedroom and that may tip our decision toward the 365. The 365 is 6" shorter than the 340 and is a couple hundred pounds lighter which increase the carrying capacity by a like amount. However, there seem to be some negatives with the 365 that we would like to hear your opinions on. The loss of drawer space by moving the washer/dryer into the corner of the bedroom is a negative, unless the drawer space was moved and we can't see it on the print. The bedroom appears to be smaller, probably because of the shorter length, since the standard bed is the queen instead of the king that is standard in all other models. It says that the king could be an option, but would that cramp an already small bedroom? We have not seen the 365 up close and personal yet, but it would seem that it would be a necessity to draw the shade in the rear window to prevent glare while watching TV.

In the 365 you also lose the large pantry next to the refrigerator. I too like the side aisle bath but you do lose closet space where the washer connection is in the 340. In addition, the rear entertainment center forces you to look at the TV from an angle. I don`t recall seeing any extra drawer space in the 365 to replace the loss of the washer space.

Our 2009 3665RE has a cabinet on the right side of the bedroom vanity. You do sit at a bit of an angle watching the living room TV but it isn't a problem. Vickie likes the fact that she can see the TV while she is in the kitchen. The separate bathroom allows me to get up early and take a shower without disturbing Vickie who sleeps later.

In the 340 Big Sky the TV swivels to face the kitchen area.

Don't know how tall you are; but, as I remember the Big Sky 340 has a lower ceiling height than the 3400, due to the 340 having a padded ceiling. This only matters in the bedroom area, and only then if you are tall enough to rub your head on the ceiling. I am, so we chose the 3400 over the Big Sky 340.

Hey Don, I'm 6'4" , and all I know is in my 3400 I can stand upright at the bedroom sink and I can walk almost all the way across the end of the bed towards the front of the Monty before my head starts to rub the ceiling. In the 340 Big Sky my head rubbed while standing at the bedroom sink. My dealer said it was because of the padded ceiling in the Big Sky. I don't know this was the reason for a fact. But, I do know my noggin rubbed the ceiling while standing at the bedroom sink. Sometimes it's a curse being tall.
