Grrrrrr

Sitting and watching TV and the power goes out, turns out it’s the pedestal and has drop a power leg. Good thing we have the generator and a full tank of fuel and a 5 gal can full of fuel.

It’s in the low 20s tonight, I hope it gets fixed tomorrow before the real cold weather comes in on Sunday.

It was -9 at the house and going down to double digits for three more nights in Colorado. We spent one night a few years back in below zero weather in our Montana and it wasn’t bad, but not fun either. Best of luck and hope they get you back on full electricity soon. Where are you at?

We always have a generator handy. We never know when the power will go off usually for a few hours but it could be for over 12 hours. We used our Honda 3000 IS. It will run every thing except our heat pump. We do have back up heat.

We’re in Van Buren Arkansas, we’re suppose to get anywhere from 5-9” of snow Sunday-Monday and single digits Monday.

Whenever that has happened to us it's always raining with no safe place to put the generators out of the weather.

Well they got me power, they temp in one of the power legs to the 50amp box. It’s pretty janky but at least it’s not gen power. I did test for voltage on each leg and it’s right at 119 +

It's a good lesson here to be prepared for any type of camping. Not everyone has a generator they bring along with them, but all of us need to consider how we would get along if the "extreme" happened. If you found yourself suddenly without power, can you still bathe, brush your teeth, have bathroom facilities, make a pot of coffee, cook, and stay warm (or cool)? .... for how long?

We also carry a generator in the truck the only time we have used it camping was twice at Quartzsite over 14 years.

Generator

I put my generator under the park picnic table, chain it to the table frame, and put the plastic table cloth on the table, works fine.
