Fiberglass rear cap

Our 2008 Montana has a fiberglass end cap. I’ve noticed that the newer Montanas do not. Does anyone know when they stopped putting the fiberglass cap on the rear?

I think that’s better construction than how they are doing them now. I see that on higher end brands like DRV they are still putting fiberglass front and rear.

We are toying with the idea of upgrading to a newer model, but I want to keep the type of construction on our old one. Our old one works just fine and has no issues but the exterior is just looking its age.

Maybe I should just keep it and have full body paint put on it and spruce up the inside with paint (already replaced carpet with vinyl plank).

Dave,

The Legacy models have the fiberglass end cap.

I agree with you. We have a 2015 Legacy Package that included the rear fiberglass cap. Cost a little more but it is distinctive. I do not like the flat back Montana's, I really think the rear cap made the Montana unique.

Dave, there are a few models that you cannot get the fiberglass cap because of storage access in the design. In the Legacy package, you get the fiberglass cap, disk brakes, In-Command, electric cord reel, Surge protection and side/rear camera system. The disk brakes on ours are the Kodiak. When we had them installed on our last Montana the disk brakes alone ran about $3500. To me, the Legacy package is a no brainer. But, everyone’s situation is different.
