Shower/Bathroom Grey Tank Dump Valve Question.

The Shower/Bathroom Grey Tank Dump Valve on my 2013 3000rk keeps getting harder and harder to pull and push back in when dumping. I want to replace it in the near future when I am parked on concrete. I think it is a 1 1/2" valve, but it could be 2". Any feedback on this would be appreciated. I am thinking of order this kit from Amazon.

Before you get serious about replacement, you might want to try lubricating the cable pull. There was a thread just within the past month talking about that. You might search back through this topic area. The lubricant mentioned penetrated the cable and traveled it's length to ease the operation.

Also, try a lubricant that goes IN the tank to lube up the slide itself. I did both the tank stuff and wd-40 to the cables and it got better. Don't remember exactly what the tank lube was, but ask at CampingWorld or a dealer.

Both forward tanks use the larger valves that I am aware of...only galley grey is the small one. I lubed mine with silicone spray two years ago and it is now time to do it again. John

I have tried to lubricate the cable pull by taking off the handle and removing the cable from the convenience center and trying to squirt lube down the cable, but the opening is so small that it is difficult to get any fluids down the cable. I have added calgon to the grey tank to help as well. We will see, but I think I still will need to replace the dump valve and cable in the near future. Thanks for your advice.

twindman- the only problem using WD-40 is that it is an oil and will attract and hold dirt or dust and will cause the cable to work harder when it gets covered with the dirt. I have used silicone spray and other non-oil based lubes and works well to get the cable to work much easier!

I am not sure what I really used. Whatever it was, I seem to remember I was able to get the fluid to run down into the cable pretty easily. Oh, my dealer put in a new tank under warranty and (being the great service department they are) also took a lot of the slack out of the cable so it works better now - no charge.

At least on my 3150 ... both black and grey tank valves are 3". Galley is 1.5". If you do go as far as replacing the valve, just remove the 4 bolts and replace the blade assy. A couple of putty knives help in reassembly.

I am on my 3rd black tank valve. Now this one is hard to pull, and sometimes does not open. Taking in next week, as the extended warranty has covered this once already. I spray silicone down the cable, tried valve lubricant in the tank. Nothing seems to help.
