Walnut Hills definite

Thought it might be a good idea to start a new thread to bring this Rally back to the front. Enclosed is a note from Walnut Hills.

Hello! We are glad to have you next year and at this point we have 20 spaces held. I have also shown on the pencil ins that you will require the meeting room. Please have your friends call us with their reservations.

Thank you and God Bless.

If your name is not on the previous list of those interested, let me know and I'll put you down. I think we can have a great Rally.

No I did not, but I requested pull throughs because of our lengths and number of slides.

Think I'll ask.

The reason I was wondering if they are going to try to put us in the 64-82 sites, I remember that they were tricky with our 30 foot travel trailer. It may be even trickier with a 38' rig getting to those sites. You may want to remind them of the size of most of our units and suggest the sites on the lower level next to the lake. Just a thought.

On edit: Whooohooo, three stars, watch out Lonnie B and Ozzie, the chase is on (just kidding). I think DW has the same thoughts about my forum buddies!!!

Hmmm, This that area? Sure looks like if I was going there with my RL I'd be asking to have a back-in site!

Yes. That is the lower level you see on the other side of the lake. I think you are exactly right about the back in sites. There are pull throughs just on the other side of the row next to the lake. Salle, let me know when you find out something, as we will be making our reservations very soon so we can get one of the good spots. Oops, should have been secretive about that probably. Are you going to join us Noneck??? The more the merrier!!!

It is pretty looking in those pictures...I'd have to convince my DW to go "inland" as you can see we tend to hang by the ocean.

And a reminder to all those who ARE interested, the Virginia rally will be the weekend after Labor Day 2008. Noneck, I will bring some sand to spread around and salt the lake near your spot. That way you will have beach and salt water spray when the wind is blowing!!!!! Ha Ha

Bingo and others interested,
This is the return note from Missy at Walnut Hills. Please help me decide.

Mrs. Wilson,

What we generally do is put you all together up
on the hill. Currently we
have you from 65-83 sites.
The pull thru sites on the other side of the lake
are only water electric
sites and it is very difficult to have slide outs
out on the driver side
because the road passes right by those sites.
Our other lake sites are back ins and we have 18
lake full hook ups
including our premium site which is 44.00 a night
at site 33. There are 2
lakefront sites that are Water, electric, and
cable but no sewer so that
comes to 20 sites at the lake.
We like to keep you together but it is not
mandatory so if folks decide to
change their mind about the hill then have them
let us know when making the
reservation. We will cancel a pencil in on the
hill and fill the sites at
the lake. The meeting room is on the hill as
well.
Sites are allowed only 1 vehicle besides their
rig so if some are on the
lake they will have to walk to you all on the
hill and not drive their
vehicle as there is not enough parking.

In the interest of keeping those of you who have expressed interest in this rally next year, we (bncinwv - {helper} and vabluebird - {wagonmaster}) have decided to contact the campground to get actual measurements of the sites they have recommended. As soon as we have that information, I will PM those of you who may want to attend to get input on the alternative locations available within the campground. The website has a park map and some photos that can be seen at www.walnuthillscampground.com. Once we have polled everyone and decided on the site selections we will notify everyone of the reservation process. If you have any questions or want to join us the weekend after Labor Day, let us know.

Bingo, It looks to me like 33-26 and 98-89 are full hook-ups and would serve our purpose. We would all be together and have full hook-ups.

Salle,
That is what I thought at first also until I got the list of site dimensions. I PM'd the campgounds response to you. When I get time today I will PM everyone from the interest thread to see what there thoughts are. Have to study also today since I have three mid-terms for Bible College coming up this week.
