transfer switch issues

Hello all,
We took the 3121rl out for our first trip this year last weekend.
We were all good until the A/C power dropped offline. Took a bit of hunting till I found the transfer relay contactor popped. I reset it and we were all good for the rest of the weekend.
When I got home I noticed it was popped again. I hooked up 110v at home and
it reset again but now it's buzzing. If i pull the power it unlatches and I have to reset it again. Should it unlatch and relatch with the power? it does it with the batteries on or off.
It is an intelli-power PD52DCSD
I have heard the reliability of these units is questionable . Is there another option?
I do not nor will I ever have a installed generator
Thank you!!
Paul

Is there another option?
Yes. Disconnect it. Problem solved permanently.

If you don't need the transfer switch you can bypass it by splicing the shore input wiring to the load (panel) wiring.

If you boondock and think you may use an inverter and run off the batteries, maybe a manual transfer switch.

If you want another ATS, I just bought and installed this one. Pretty happy with it so far.

In case helpful, link to a troubleshooting guide and manual. The manual has contact info. Also, haven’t watched them but several YouTube troubleshooting videos out there.

Let us know what you find or if you hook-up a different system.

Your battery amperage has nothing to do with the Transfer Switch problem. Batteries are 12V DC. The Transfer Switch is 120V AC only. There is a history of Transfer Switch failures. I believe Montana had a recall on them. They would replace the original with a different brand (that didn't have some feature that the original possessed) as I remember. Perhaps your is one on the recalled ones?

Your Transfer Switch is the one recalled. Read this Thread for more info.

Hi,
I sent in the form per the link in that post. PD responded almost immediately. I filled out their warranty form and they are sending me a newer updated unit.
Thank you all for your help!
