6V battery
If you have converted to golf cart batteries, what brand of 6V battery do you recommend?

I just use two from Sams Club, both year old now and no problems. I can get the band name if needed?

I replaced ours with the Trojan T105's a couple of years ago and am happy with them. They hold a charge for a long time compared to the original 12 volt batteries that we had. A little pricey, but so far so good.

Stiles for all around performance trojans are the best by far. we use them for racing golf carts and need them to hold up longer. They are a little higher but this is one time when you realy get what you pay for.JMHO

Stiles,
I have four Interstate 6 Volt golf batteries I use with the solar system. They are an OK battery. So are the Sams Club batteries. They are a little less in price than the T-105s and will probably last just as long if properly maintained as with all other batteries.
I had 12 Volt Interstate batteries previously in the rigs and they served me well.

Jolu said a little less. That should be a LOT less. Have four Interstates from Sam's Club. I have noticed that many Sam's are carrying Exide now.

I don't know about inner construction but the Exide power specifications are identical to Trojan. The 6 volts are taller than 12 and require a different case.

I have four 6V batteries that I got from Sam's Club several months ago, they are all Energizer brand. Both stores here in the Colorado Springs area carry them.

I have been using the same 4 Trojan 105's for 6 years now and are still going strong. I have been using 2 75 watt solar panels to charge them with and a 1750 watt inverter that is used for short periods of time, re brew coffee and then turn the pot off, vacuuming, reheat coffee in microwave etc etc.
Sometimes we like to camp in a BC Provincial campground where there are no hookups, but water and a sewer dump station are usually available.
In sunny, partially shaded sites we can easily last a week by conserving water (navy showers and paper plates) and only using as many lights as necessary.

I put six Trojan T105 Golf Cart Batteries. I got them at a place that sells Golf Carts. They were $96.50 each + core charge since I didn't have old batteries to turn in.

John, I think you got a good buy on those T-105s from the prices I ran into while shopping for batteries.

Yes, I used shower pan liner to line inside. I used 3/8" plywood with 1 X 1 1/2 screw and glued to plywood give it strength and keep weight down. Cover fits on top with air vent to existing hose and side vent to bottom opening.
