Sailun Failure
In as many days, I've heard of two Sailun Tire Failures ... discerning at the least.
Food for thought/discussion - many of us changed over several years ago to Sailun tires and have no to very little issues ... I'm sure many of us recommended others to do the same and possible made manufacturers feel it was the better choice, certainly less expensive than some other choices. So the RV manufactures have started using them. This has put extensive demand on Sailun production capacity. Additionally, the "China Bombs' " stigma might also have caused the production to be moved to a new location other than China ...
Is it this increased demand that has caused quality to slip?
Is it the new manufacturing location is in a learning curve?
Hopefully this is a blip on the radar. I think the important thing is to determine see if there is a common denominator ie, manufacturing location of date range or ???
For sure TPMS is important.

While this is concerning it's also not unexpected. Good tires do fail. Take it from the guy who had a 614 blow hard enough to take out the TST on the 614 behind it and ruin that one also.

its maybe that more people are into RVing. Some of them have yet to learn the importance of treating your tires well.

I don't worry about tires, if something is going to happen it will, but I do put allot of time into them. We do about 10,000 miles a year and I regularly check pressure, have a good TPMS, lube hubs, lube suspension check wheel lugs and suspension bolts. This allows me to sleep at night because the only thing I defiantly don't want to break at 60 MPH is anything in the suspension.

Just ordered 5 new Sailun. My current OE tires are 4 years old. I normally replace at 3 years but stretched these another year.

Owned a small business for almost 50 years. Like a lot of you I’ve observed many U.S. made products decline in quality. Why would China products (as crappy as most of them were to begin with) not follow the same course? Maybe Sailuns were fine at one time and are now crap? You pays your money and you takes your chances.

There are many 10's of thousands or more Montana's on the road, let alone all the other brands. On any given day I bet there are dozens if not hundreds of tire blowouts. On this forum I can only find 2 people who reported a problem (there were multiple posts about the same failure).
I then called my tire shop. They sell a lot of Sailun tires, he has one customer with 3,000 units alone and they use Sailun. He has not heard of a single failure. Let's not panic, the Sailun is still the 2nd best tire for heavy RV's, the G614 being the gold standard. If worried, switch to Boar wheels and get Continental for less than half the price of G614's and they will last a good 8 years.
