I have found "timing" is the secret to removing bugs from the front cap. After 3 travel trailers and 1 fifth wheel, I attempt to wash the front cap while it's raining. Sounds silly I know, but after it starts raining awhile, all the dirt, bug, and gunk on the front cap gets softened up. If you don't mind getting a little rain on your bonnet, a long handled soft RV brush with a little of your favorite soap, and things wash off real nice. Then the rain will rinse all the soap off.
I don't do this all the time, but sometimes, it's real convenient. And when i do it in the rain, bugs dissolve. I suppose after they get soaked with water, they soften up and wash off easier.
Anyway, that's how I do it.
I haven't caught any colds yet from being in the rain. Maybe that part of me as a kid just never grew up! I still love playing in the rain, at 66 years of age! My grandson and I (age 8 now) have a blast when it rains!
