The only think I hate about my F350 is...

...the headlights! For a $55K piece of equipment, it amazes me how poorly it lights things. My son's 15 year old, $2000 Honda accord has to be twice as bright. To say nothing about all the newer Chevy's I own. I went to an auto parts store a few years ago and said 'give me the brightest headlights they make, money is no object'! When I pulled out my stock bulbs can you believe how frustrated I was that the new ones had exactly the same part numbers stamped in exactly the same way?

The new ones (17 and later) have much brighter lights. You can always add a light bar - I have one wired to my upfitter switches.

The headlights is an easy fix, you will just have to decide if you want to go with an LED or HID style. Both have their own pro's and con's. With the HID you will have to get a ballist but these lights are far superior in Brightness. The LED's are extremely easy to install but can be a annoying, due to the low voltage draw, causing a headlight out signal. The headlight will not be out but the system will not recognize it due to the low voltage signal.

Whichever you chose be sure and get the correct housing and projection for the light. If you just put these lights in a regular housing, you will be able to see extremely well, but you will be blinding everyone else. These types of headlights require specific headlight assemblies. Just type it online and you will see what I am talking about. You can find a nice set for both options online under $200. Goodluck to you.

What you don’t won’t is a cheap pair of poorly designed bulbs that scatter the light and blinds oncoming traffic. Diode Dynamics makes bulbs especially designed for your truck. Look them up you will see what I mean.
Lynwood

I just checked DD they have a disclaimer now that says LED bulbs aren’t legal in the US. So you need to get the bulbs for ‘off road’.
Their phone number is (314) 205-3033. I think.

Just tell them it’s for off road use and it is. You need to see in a camp ground.

Ford trucks for years have had mediocre head lights.

Be real careful with LEDs in a 2011. They "threw" 6 or 7 trouble code on my '11. Also the light scatter with the existing reflectors is terrible. Yes, it's bright light but it wont get any further down the road.

Out came the LEDs and in went a set of these - Phillips X-tremeVision for about $18/pair from Amazon. Pennsylvania Silverstars are good as well but my history with life expectancy isn't good.

Some aftermarket light assembles are good - until they aren't and all are expensive

I have really liked all three of our Ford F350 Diesels, even our 2005 6.0.

This is what you get with poorly designed LEDs. Most are designed for everything and nothing.

just be sure you don't blind on coming cars. I hate it when I see a truck with a light bar shining in the trees. People just don't install and or aim them correctly. Just saying is all.

Hey Dave, do you remember which bulb # you bought? There are so many on Amazon that say will fit, kind of confusing to me. I want it right the first time! I have a 2014 F 350.
Thanks for your help bro!✌️

Yep, 9008 or H13 is the correct size.
As I said above, I've had great luck with Phillips, so-so with the Sylvanias.

You need to pull the grille off to reach the bulbs. You might want to consider replacing the marker and directional bulbs at the same time. While pulling the grills is pretty simple, it can be a PITA at the wrong time, say at a state inspection. There are some You Tube videos showing you how to pull that grille

Just don’t be “that guy” with those annoying, ultra bright blue tinted headlights.

This is why you don’t buy off of Amazon. Cheap LED scatter the light and blind oncoming traffic.
Another good choice is GTR Lighting.

My F250 is the same and hate it when the deer are in rut. My Nissan has better lighting and seems like I can see double the distance too and see ino the grassy side as well for a deer wanting to cross.

Had a 2011 F350 with Halogen lights that I thought were pretty effective, but I also had fog lights which helped significantly. As one ages, cataracts can form and night vision becomes more difficult. When purchasing a my 2017 F350, I insisted on LED lights. Much brighter and much better light throw, so you can see better and further. Today, everything I own has LED, including my flashlights. They are just much better than any incandescent, halogen or fluorescent light source and the price has become more economical as well.
